New 2003 Praire 650's

Thanks DUstanko. Yea, I like it with out the racks, it makes it look sportier which is how I ride it. I was getting some pretty big air out at the Nellis sand dunes yesterday. Airborne for 2 1/2 seconds, sport quads didn't have anything on me
Yours looks cool with all the accessories. Is that camo the cameo covers that Kawasaki sales? It looks cool. I wondered how it would look. Is it easy to put on, and does it cover underneath the racks, like if I put it on mine with out the racks would it cover all the plastic? I think that would be a cool thing to do once the plastic gets really beat up, just put the cameo covers on it, and it looks like new. What do you have to do when you need to wash it? Do you have to take them off, and if so, how do you get the camo cover clean?

Yes, it is Kawasaki's camo coverings.
The hardest part about putting it on is that you have to replace many of the bolts that hold the plastic to the mudflaps. You replace them with snaps. That took about 20 minutes to do. After that it was easy to put on. It slips right underneath the racks fairly easily. I did have to unratchet one of the front bolts of the front rack so as to get my hand underneath to pull the camo to the front. But all in all easy to do.
The camo does cover all the green plastic. It makes cleaning easier also. I make sure that I take a hose the underside while the mud is still wet. The top I let dry in the sun for a day and it literally flakes right off the canvas camo. All I have to do to clean it is hose it down.
The only hard part about the camo coverings is that you must unsnap and pull the camo off the rear and over the air intake in order to pull the air filter for cleaning. If you are like me and clean the filter often, it can be a pain. It only takes about five minutes to do but compared to just pulling the air filter out its kind of a hassle.
All in all I love the camo coverings. They stay on very well, better than I anticipated. It also has no problem staying on during transporting on my trailer at 70 mph. I paid $199 for the coverings, seat cover, and handlebar cover. I recommend the handlebar cover as it has a very nice-sized pocket for cell phone, wallet, etc.
Have a great day.

Area51,
Thank you for the information. Also, thank you DUstanko for the complements on the Raptor and Bayou. I have the DirtWheels magazine and saw the picture of the Prairie 650. It looks nice. I have my heart set into buying a green one, since green is my favoriate color.
Do you know of any other changes for 2003, besides the color? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

They just came out with the camo color I believe for late model 2002's and 2003's. I have only seen pictures of it. It looks okay and all. I am not a fan of Advantage Timber. I would have liked to see it in Mossy Oak and another in a Delta Marsh type colors.
The new camo 650 is starting to trickle into dealerships now.
