Thanks for all of the great posts on belts. My prairie 650 belt squeals and it takes off more like a gas powered golf cart now. It only has about 150 miles and 40 hours and is 5 months old. I have stock size Dirt Devils so big tires are not the problem.

I dropped it by my local "friendly" dealer and the tech backed it off of the trailer rode it around the parking lot and said there was nothing wrong.

Should warranty cover this and what do I tell my stubborn dealer?
BTW they are also a Polaris dealer so they should know belts.
Thanks,
James

You are not alone here...I took mine in as well as i was getting a squeal in 2wd High...he told me he checked the belt and the belt deflection and both were fine. No glazing or marking on the belt and the deflection was within factory recommended settings....hmmmm

Also had a problem with gas coming up on the plastic above the airbox...said they couldnt find a problem or duplicate it...informed me to watch it and if it happens again to check two tubes coming out of the carburator...if they have gas in them a float is stuck...dont know why they didnt check the float then anyway...since owning quads I have become very dissappointed and skeptical about dealers and mechanical support...been to three different dealers and cant say ANY of the three provided solid support
