After having the belt adjusted and the shift linkage adjusted my 650 backfires through the exhaust when i slow down just before it comes to a stop. Anyone else had this problem? The dealer is having trouble finding the problem.

Try richening up the air screws. Everybody that backfires so far has been able to reduce or eliminate it this way.

the other thing that causes backfires is exhaust leaks. Not that you have messed with it (or the dealer), but it is a possibility.

Believe it or not when mine gets to doing the backfire scene, I clean the air filter and most of the time that does it. Kinda opposet of richening I guess.

Go forth and ride.
