newbie 650!!
#1
Hey all, I just bought my new praire 650. It is awesome, good in the mud even with dunflops. I want to thank the forum for your postings, they really helped me make my decision. Everything is good on the bike besides needed to adj. the left brake handle. Looking forward to doing mods. My questions are,is there a cdi out yet, and is there a performance mod. kit out with jets, filter, exhaust(great sound)?

We are waiting on a CDI, but it is coming.
Uni, Twin Air, K&N filters.
Dynjet Jet kits (K&N is the same kit).
EPI makes spring Kits.
Diamondgracing makes a performance airbox snorkle.
Big Gun, HMF, Pro Circuit, and Super trapp I think all make 650 exhausts.
Metaltech Skid Plates. Armordillo skid plates.
You will most likely not like the stock tires after a while. I am not a palm reader, it is just that every 650 owner here (I think) either has replaced the stockers or plans to.

You will love it except for those useless tires. I blame my one roll on those things. I think they are actually dangerous on such a powerful, heavy machine.
I wonder if Kawa used those to keep the weight near the magical 600 pound mark rather than putting on virtually any other tire that would perform better. Worst of all the Dunflops aren't cheap either. Mine only had about 100 miles and I gave them to my father for his Kodiak. He has bad back probs and must have the cushy ride and he just putts around.
My $.02 is that you probably want to put good tires on before you add any more power to make it any quicker. If you give it any more power, you still have to control it.

hey all the 650's belt is starting to bark a little so I will have to read up on this forum on how to adj. it. Also Nyrco sorry to hear about your roll, but glad to hear both of you made it thru. I can't find that snorkle on diamondgracing?
Has anyone made a dual muffler setup for there 650 yet? I have looked and thought one could take to aftermarket slip-on and make a cool dual exhaust 650, Any idea's?
