I rolled my 650 doing powerslides. I slid too far due to water on the trail, got sideways and could not straighten out. I wish I had be able to jump off, but it happened too fast. The 650 flipped sideways once and landed on the tires! I think a wheel or my storage box may have hit me in the helmet, because it has much bigger scratches on it than I have seen when other people hit the dirt.

Other than a slightly bent (stock) wheel and a slightly bent rack (which two of us grabbed and straightened), the 650 is fine. It did not even stall. I had to crawl to shut it off so I could lay in pain peacefully. I mainly just got a bruised knee and butt. I saw two more bruises on me today, but not bad.

Wow I was lucky. I have been thanking my Maker repeatedly, for receiving what I consider the least possible damage in that situation. I could have been paralyzed, or even gone to that atv trail in the sky.

Be careful on wet clay, it is fun but can get out of hand.

Not cool Nyroc. I rolled mine a couple of weeks ago. It was the slowest rollover in recorded history thank god. I was sidehilling and came upon a runoff creek. Dropped one front wheel into the creek on the downside(stupid), and over she went. Landed right on the roof. I jumped off as soon as I realized it was going over. I'd rather straighten a rack than try to straighten my leg!!! Rolled her back over on the wheels, let her sit for about 10 minutes and it fired right up. All the boys were laughing pretty hard. If you can laugh about it, it had to be good, but then again, when I'm on my 650, it's all good.

yuo were lucky, Nyroc.I did the same thing couple years back on a 500 Quadrunner. It was on a little patch of ice and i was going wat too fast.I busted my elbow, spent 3 days in the hospital and came out with 2 pins, couple screws and a few feet of wire installed.

We all learn the hard way, though.

Took 2 years and another trip in to remove all that stuff before my elbow was close to being right again.

Would hate to to lose you bud! I hate when my quad spanks me when Ive been so good to it. I do have a question for you, is the shims in the rear clutch behind the spring or or between the to halfs? cause if its the one behind the spring I took it out, put it back together and the belt looked like it sat lower in the clutch. So I was starting to wounder if this was the right shim. Hey what the picture of you raditator cap and inlet pipe #44 about?

The shims that affect belt adjustment are between the sheaves.

The picture of the thermostat neck is there because I was asking someone if they could make one out of aluminum or find a relief/check valve to take the place of two of the functions of radiator cap (so I could use a solid cap). I have had to replace that little plastic neck because it was eroded and began to leak (boil?) water into my bottle. I still do not know what chemical attacked it, other than water wetter. I asked Redline, but they told me not a chance. So the fluid that ate the plastic part was either water, antifreeze, or Water Wetter.

I have had other problems with plastic cooling system parts too, but this fill neck is $80.

and rolled, i was able to push myself away downhill.... 2 steps later
i ran head on into a tree! did`nt hurt the 650 or my head, but my leg from the hip down hurts like hell... took a chunk o` bark outta the tree
and left a permanent mark on my brain bucket!...

Roc,
gald that you're ok, and yep, it could have been a lot worse, after laying on the ground and "taking inventory" glad that you still had everything working.. I have a respect for things that run well, but that does not stop me from enjoying the way they run. kinda like the guy said about his car, a triumph with a 426 ford in it.."it runs well, but don't forget the important thing..point it in the right direction before you get on it.." good that you are on the mend, except for being banged up a bit.

sometime I'll do some mods to the 650, I have jet kit, & springs for drive & driven pulleys to go in. probally be a good time to check the belt adjustment as well. I don't know if I'll use the jet kit, or stock jets probally a 142 front/145 rear with airbox mods per Mike P. & twin air filter.

I'll just have to see how diffrent the needles are..
