Has anyone had a cracked radiator?

Hey! Dash, the stuff I make works looks a lot better than Mr. MacGyver's stuff would in real life. I wouldn't make a very interesting of a TV show though. Macgyver gets it done a lot faster than me.

I used to do a lot better when I had access to a machine shop.

Hey Nyroc, I'm glad you and a few of these other guys are around. A dumb *** like me can gain a lot of insight from you folks.

Just got back from spending a week at the ATV Jamboree in Fillmore Utah...WHAT A BLAST, however.....The bottom finger on the fan mount broke where it connects to the fan. This finger is spot welded to the fan and it wasnt the weld that broke...it was the metal finger. This finger is bolted to the bottom of the radiator and from what I can figure, Because the finger was no longer connected at the fan, it vibrated to the point where it separated the radiator at the bottom. I removed the broken finger and tied the fan back away from the radiator (because of the broken bracket, the fan had been rubbing the radiator while spinning and the plastic fan had been chewed up a bit by the aluminum fins. I then called my dealer. Needless to say I wasnt happy with the Jamboree half over and me with a leaking radiator. I told the service writer what had happened and asked if putting alumaseal would void my warranty, he told me to go ahead put it in and he would warranty it when I returned home. The Alumaseal worked so I could continue to ride the machine. Other issues that I ran into is that the right rear axle seal started leaking and my belt is still sqwaking a bit.

Upon my return home, I took it to the dealer and they are ordering me a new fan, radiator, replacing the axle seal and are going to try and shim my belt (AGAIN) to eliminate the sqwack. Problem is....My warranty is up next month and im thinking that with all the issues that I've had I better buy the extended warranty. It also sounds like Im not the only one who has had a problem with the fan mount breaking. My dealer keeps telling me that Im the only one who has had ANY problems with the 650's that they have sold. They have been great to work with in resolving the problems though. My machine has about 600 miles on it now.

WARN had a representative at the jamboree with a 650 set up with some of their accessories. It also had 27" IPT 589's with aluminum C series rims....very sharp looking. I spoke with him and spent some time looking at the clearences the machine had with those tires. IT was evident that the right rear tire was occasionally rubbing on the gas tank. The machine did not have a lift on it. WARN makes a rocker style switch as an accessory to their winches that can be mounted on the handlebars....It looked great, very clean. I hate the round In/Out switch. Im going to order the rocker switch..I wish I had know about it before. Just some information for you all.

The Jamboree had a mud bog and pull that I entered...The muck was so soupy no-one made it through. The guys with bigger tires did a little better than those of us with stock tires however.

I felt like in the pull, my machine did very well, however...A grizzly 660 did pull the farthest.
