what size of ball should i get for my prairie 650s hitch?
1 7/8" or 2". which one is used more on boat and small trailers

you make the decision. whatever floats your boat. what does all of your trailers take for a hitch? that would be a good start. you might even have to change it once in a while... mmmmm.. maybe the one on your truck will work????

Most small trailers have 1 7/8 hitches on them.

ONE THOUGHT: That four wheeler, full of fuel and oil and water will come in somewhere around 675 lbs. Add your full wieght to that....

My point is...that ain't much weight to back down a boat into the water. You could end up getting dragged in. I have seen lots of little S-10's and Ranger's get stymied on a boat ramp, particularly a slippery algea covered ancient concrete ramp. That front end comes up, and you might have to conctact your insurance agent...

Just my 2.5 cents worth...
