I think there was something said about putting a washer in behind the recoil , this tightened it up, and had better recoil. I think.

You gotta watch the handle on the recoil starter. If it isn't sitting properly when you go mudding, mud will get in where the rope goes and will clog it up. Just take it off, clean it out and put it back on. No biggee.

As for the Gates belt, I haven't heard anything yet but I'm hoping one will come out soon.

If you look closely at teh housing ther is a drain holes under the recoil pull. I just took mind off today and saw that they do have a gasket in ther though. I put some rtv in place of the gasket. If you want to make it easier to pull I did put a small washer under the bolt and plate. It works great I forget who suggested that a few months ago.

as far as the belt..
this is what I got whem I asked

<<Subject: 4 wheeler belts, availability

07/27/02 12:50PM

Question: are there any plans for making belts for the cvt transmission 4 wheelers, as they are similar to the snow sleds?
(more particulary the Kawasaki Prarie 650 v twin model) the only option for belts is the stock one from the dealers..this machine has a short belt life & could use a fine gates belt on there for sure..
Thanks
Charles>>

<<Charles, We have been told that belt sucks. We plan to offer a higher grade / performance upgrade. We have purchased tooling to make that belt it should take us a few months longer to get it dialed in. Check our website for updates.
Happy trails,
