Fwiw Pennzoil and Quaker state are the same company now.So are Mobil and Exxon. There are many folks that believe that one brand of oil is better than the other. You always hear one guy say he wont use brand x because of(fill in the blank)ect, ect.

Oil quality is controlled by the govt. All oil as long as it has the API donut on the back of the bottle with a rating of "sj" or "sl" regardless of the maker is a quality oil.Stay away from the "sa" and "sb" oils you find at some gas stations,it has no detergents.

While using car engine oil is ok ,the car oil guys dont recognize the additives that a motorcycle clutch needs. My Mojave calls for "jaso-ma" oil.The only oil besides Kawasaki's oil I have seen to have this additive is "Valvoline 4-stroke motorcycle oil".Regular oil may have this additive, this bottle of "valvoline 4-stroke motorcycle oil" I have in my hand may be exactly like the car oil they sell, who knows.

Since you may be dealing with a bike under warranty I would use oil that meets the requirements of your bike,if you had a problem they may be able to weezel out since the oil you used didn't mention their requirements even if it is exacly like the oil that does mention the requirements.

What does your owners manual say you need?
