OK my site crashed but I have a link to the 2003 Model Year Changes So far I have seen

Look inside the airbox more than a mount there, angled slightly more than the 2002 it seems, replaced the fuel light with a belt light, filter is different, box top is different no indentation and check out the color and those graphics are awesome.
2003 Changes
Hope this gets you looking into some mods however the airbox looks like ours on the intake side no difference snorkel still same size and so forth.

Are you sure its actually the carbs that are angled and not just the rubber tube thing? Just wondering. Anyone find out if any of the 2003 parts will fit the 2002?

I actually think it is the airhorns so that are angled and not the carbs themselves. Other than interior and the lid I do not see many modifications to the box at all. I am going to see if the lid itself will make a difference on the quad> I am sure with the Diamond G snorkel and that free flowing lid more air has to enter the box. Also I noticed on the lid there was room enough to make a swirl pattern to make the air spin toward the carbs. I know this used to work on cars and was wondering when I saw how roomy this was in there if it would work here. 1Bearman another challenge I think.

I've been thinking about getting 2 K&N air filter pods and putting them over the airhorns. I think that would have better air flow. The horns would probably have to be modified somehow. Has anyone out there tried this?

I was told by my dealer that Kawasaki upgraded the drive belt on their 400 but did not know if they upgraded the belt on the P650 for 2003. Do you know if the '03 P650 use the same belt as the '02 P650? Thanks or the info ..........MJSTX

The Dealer does not have the new microfiche for the bike yet, but when it arrives I will take a gander at it and cross reference the drive system against the old.

I just picked up an '03 and talked with the dealer about the belt (frontier cycle, Laramie Wy, great guys). As yet kaw. is still using the same belts, but replacing as needed under warranty. They are expecting a dealer bulletin type recall once they have belts with a better compound.

Thanks for the info on the belt "AJ650". It's a shame that the P650 is such a great machine but is plagued by this really poor belt. After a year of owning this machine and 2700 miles, I still get a rush everytime I ride it. Thanks again for the news.....MJSTX
