For those owners of the P650 with the camoflauged plastic.... How does it hold up? Does the the camo adhesive stay put

Mine is Red, but Gosh I luv that camo 650! Anybody wanna trade red for camo?

Just kidding! I really would trade, but I'm not goofy enough to think that any camo owners would want to.

I have not had mine for any significant length of time (since May?), but it seems to be well done. It appears to be painted on, not stickered. I drilled a hole through the handlebar shroud to mount my winch switch and a bit chipped off (the switch coverd it though).

I think the camo looks fantastic. My wife, on the other hand, had to have the red one.... The 2003 red is a candy apple red; while the 2002 is a bit more orange colored. Both look nice though.

If it is some sort of "paint" application does it scratch or chip off easily?

I would say no, not easily. I think it scratches a lot less visibly than my wifes red one. I can see all kinds of fine scratches on hers. As far as the chipping, I think you might have the same type thing occur via drilling this stuff. Otherwise I think it will hold up well. It reminds me of the clearcoat on fiberglass boats, except more scratch resistant. If you are not careful when drilling through fiberglass boats you can get chipping also. After the hole is drilled, the trick is to "router" the edge out with a larger phillips bit in a drill; that way the threads of the screws won't lift the coating. I neglected to do that with the ATV as I didn't think it was necessary. I still don't. I think it was a fluke that I let the switch cover plate twist over the "paint" and it caught an edge.

Overall, I think the camo will be lasting, but, ask me again next year or so.

Wanna a $20 camo job?? Got to K-Mart, and buy some camo duct tape. My frend and I did it on his Bayou 400, and it looks really professional, holds up real good. It's A LOT easier if you take off the plastic that you are camoing.

Hey Dirty White Boy, I see you are from kenosha.... I'm from Waterford

Do you ever go to Bong? We normally go up north, but haven't ridden the Kaw at Bong yet (however the Polaris knows this place well)

Hey bigtime,

No, and I have had no desire to ride Bong even though it is about 10 minutes from my house. My wife is from Freeport, IL (not her fault ;-) ) which is about 20 minutes south of Monroe and the Cheese County trail. So, we ride there often. Other than that I often ride Black River Falls as it is only 1 hour from my step-dads home near Portage (convenient). I don't mind running 3.5 hours to BRF or Suring (Dusty Trails) in a day though. I have a week on/week off schedule so I have all kinds of free time to ride wherever I want. I like the northern trails the best so far. My bro has a place near Fifield (east of Park Falls) so we ride the Flambeau system there.

Do you like riding Bong?

WOW!!!!!!!

Black River Falls is where we do the majority of our trail riding!!!!!!!

We stay in Hatfield and can drive to the Clark co trails from the pine haven resort

A <5min trailer trip and we are on Jackson co trails.

Yes, those trails are dusty, but usually a great time! (lots better when you are in the front on the 650!)
