Actually a bayou,but I had to figure a way to get some views.Anyway here is a pasted copy of my original:What kind of hardware is holding the gear shift lever on.My mothers bayous lever is able to slide left and right.The only thing to keep it from falling off is a half oval shaped piece of metal on the footpeg.Could you go look please?Thanks

Could you show us a pic? I have only owned one Kaw atv, and don't know what this shifter looks like. Do you see any cracks in the splined part, that goes around the shift shaft?

No I cannot post a photo,wish I had the equipment.The dealer is open on tuesday,so I'll go have a look.Thanks for the reply anyway.
