Just got my hitch the other day and could not beleive one of the steps for putting this thing on is draining all the fluid out of the rear end. Is this really nessesary, if so where can I find Mobil 424 oil besides the dealer because I have look everywhere.

I put mine on and lost so little fluid that it didn't need to be topped up. The Kawi dealer is the easiest place to get Mobil 424. They sell it by the quart. If you get it from Mobil I think you have to buy a gallon.

You won't loose any(not much anyway). The Kaw wet brake/diff. lube is only $5.00/qt., it takes less than a qt. to change oil in the r-diff. It worried me, too. Mine lost NONE when I installed the hitch.

KVF650's sold in Canada come with the mount already installed. Funny thing though...if you have to replace it, I believe that they want $300 plus versus $60 or $70 for US distributed Praries

Yep, Canada and Euro P-650's come standard with hitches. U.S. marketed ones do not. The hitch costs @$32.00 US in my area. Took 10 min. to install.
