How to tell if choke cable is bad??
#1
Will the thumb operated lever not move all the way? I ask because I took the quad out yesterday just for a couple minutes, and it did not have much power with the choke off, but when I put the choke half way, it wheelied like crazy. Maybe I just did not let it warm up enough.

I don't understand. Are you saying that the choke lever doesn't have full range of movement? That bike needs a little warm-up(say, 2 min) before it'll run clean with choke off.
How do you like the 489"s? I may try those when I wear out the Sur-Trax/Spiders combo. Had any mud to run 'em in? Are they OK on hardpack?

They choke cable does move the full range. I really did not have much chance to ride the quad with these tires. They ride good on hardpack, it has hardly rained here this summer, so I do not know about mud.
The tread pattern seems very similar to the dunlops.

Kawasaki has issued a bulletin to dealers and a new replacement part number for the choke cable, due to a defect that inhibits performance drastically and also makes the machine hard to start keep running ect. The cable operates plungers which are defective. hope this helps.
