Prairie 650 front differential actuator problems.
#1
Has anyone replaced the small rectangular collar on the output shaft of the front differential actuator? It seems to be held on by a small pin, but I have no idea how to get the thing off. I'm guessing a drill or hack saw. My collar got mangled pretty bad because (I think) the output shaft was not rotated to the correct start position when I re-installed the actuator. The collar was pointing down, as the service manual specified, but I think the output shaft got rotated slightly when I had the actuator apart. All this work over what I eventually found out was just a blown fuse and two wrong resistance values that were printed in the Kawasaki service manual!
By the way, if you're ever trying to figure out what's wrong with your engine braking system or your 4wd and you start taking resistance readings off of the actuator on either the front differential or the engine braking system, the reading from the Orange to Blue wires should be 3.5-6.5 kOhms, not 3.5-6.5 Ohms. My manual had both actuator values mis-printed, causing me great pain in the long run.
