is there any way that one could change the transmission to be an manual-clutch, on the new kfx700 w/o having to go to a chain drive??

Why would there be a reason to change the drive train? The wolverine is shaft and you can buy a kit for it to make it a manual with clutch. Its a 5 speed to begin with though too. I don't think its feasible to change it over, I'm sure you could but it would cost more than its worth.

They could, but there are no gears to change speeds. You still need the belt drive even if somehow there were a manual.

The belt drive is fine for a sport quad. The belt drive is the good part of a scrambler. The bad part about a scrambler is the 571 pounds, and the worst in class reliability.

You will accelerate best with a belt.
