I just briefly saw a post on another fourm where someone moded his 650 with a pipe,jets& breather. Ok here is the part that I haven't heard anyone else mention before. He then went on to say that he advanced his timing 5 deg. at the flywheel.
Has anyone tryed this? Does it work?

 

You hafta ket a crank key that is offset. This is a cheap way of fixing the 650's retarded timing.

It is not nearly as good as waiting for 1Bearman to sell us reprogrammed CDI's. There is more than 5 degress retard in the stock one at some RPM's. He thinks we will have one before christmas.

 

Got any idea what he will charge for that cdi box?

 

Most likely around $400 I could be wrong I was wrong once before that was back in 77

 

I spoke with Bearman the other day...he said somewhere "around" $300

 

I will let you guys buy one and tell me how it does then. It would make no sense for me to spend that kind of money on the Prairie the wife rides. The springs wasnt but around $55 but thats it for the mods on hers. Im not even going to replace the air filter. On the other hand, if I get one for myself next Spring then I will probably change everthing I can on it.

 

Sfbc 300 is even better that 400 maybe if we keep this up Bearman will come down even more LOL. Have fun.
