Has anyone else read their review for the Mojave? It was very biased against it. This is normal when the rags review a quad that hasn't changed but they slanted their review so much that they lied.

ATV Action:
"If you put $700 into the Mojave, it would be much more competitive against the 300EX, but the Sporttrax will still weigh about 40lbs less."

WHA, HUH? Maybe they should do a little proof reading or check their specs once in a while. The Mojave weighs 379 dry versus the 300EX at 377 dry. Hmmm, that is 2 lbs. Now if you weigh the Mojave with a gallon of gas and all fluids (WET) and then compare it to a DRY 300EX, wow, the Mojave is heavier. BUT, why didn't they compare wet weights? Probably because they would have come out the almost identical except for the weight of the coolent at around 6lbs. Both quads have 2.2 gal tanks.

Hey ATV Action, why don't you try and do a little research before writing a review. Probably because it is easier for you guys to take a previously written Dirt Wheels review, cut and paste and change the order of the words and viola! An ATV Action review. PATHETIC

I agree, I hate that magazine and rarely ever buy one off the stand. They pretty much have their heads up Hondas ***! Did anyone read the "lord almighty" Rincon review? LOL check that one out.

I do not think the figures are right on the mojo. I have seen them listed around 410. I did not read the article. Kawi is finally coming out with some killer products. The mojo should dissapear real soon anyway. I am not a honda fan, but the 300ex is a little better in some but nat all situations. They both leave a lot to be desired.

I just read an article on the Mohave in one of the mags. It seemed like they kept saying it needed updating and improvements. I don't know, if you upgrade the mohave anymore, then it ends up the same as the new klf400 quad. The mags seem to forget what class the mohave is in.

You could not update the mojo enough to make it the same as a kfx400 sorry, At least not keeping it reliabale and for any reasonable amount of money.

If you had all the fluids in both the Mojave and 300EX, the Mojave will weigh more, because of the radiator fluid. I got my 300EX back when I still had the Mojave, and when I rode them back to back, the Mojave definately felt heavier. I can't say anything about the power because the Mojave was in need of a new top end. But the 300EX difinately felt quite a bit lighter.

40lbs heavier? That is my point, it is completely inaccurate. If you were to compare the wet weight of the 300EX and compared to the Mojave the Mojave will be probably be sightly heavier because of the coolent. But there is a minimum amount of coolent, say 1 gal, how much could that weigh? Probably at the most 6lbs. If somebody really wanted to analretentive about it you would have to consider whether the 300EX's dry weight includes the battery or not. The battery is heavaier than a gallon of coolent.

Yeah....they sure did bash it. I own a 2002 and I love it!! I could care less what the rags say. Since when is the 300ex faster than the mojo?? I guess liquid-cooling means nothing as well. They must be a bunch of pansies too, because they sure did b!tch about having to kick-start the mojo....give me a break!! I also loved how they just ravved about the Blaster which only has new brakes and new plastic. That quad also has remained the same since '87, but it's the greatest thing!! Of course you actually see Yamaha ads in the mag, I don't recall seeing any Kawi ads?? Ride what you like and screw everyone else and their opinions!!

Good point! I forgot about the whole kickstart issue. Funny how they bitch that the Mo is too heavy and then want Kawi to add e-start which would only increase the weight.

As for the Blaster I completly agree. My brother bought one when they first came out and it was a nice quad, but it wasn't as good for the type of riding we do, tight woods, river crossings, lots of deadend trails. I rode it quite a bit and hated the fact that it didn't have reverse. Back then the brakes totally sucked but after I'm glad to see that they changed that after 14 years.

Why don't the mags rail on the 300EX? It hasn't changed since 1993? I wouldn't consider e-start and being bored out to a 282cc revolutioinary. The funny thing is after these "improvements" it then became slower than the 250X!

Features: Mojave has better brakes BY FAR, the reverse feature is a lot easier to use than the 300ex.
The Mojave definatly handles better, the reason you guys say that it doesn't handle as good is because the reputation of the EX bikes, The Mojave will turn twice as tight and take turns faster.

Engine: EX has more bottom-end. You have to rev out that Mojave to get power out of it but it has a lot of top-end. Liquid cooled is a plus for engine life and comfort of the riders legs. So far my EX leaks oil and has left me stranded due to the cam-chain jumping off the sprockets, the Mojave is leak free and is very reliable I've never been starnded.
