Has anyone else had trouble with their recoil starter rope sticking out when pulled?
Mine has done this numerous times and I thought it was related to the mud and grime that I found there. Turns out its not!!! 1: Take of recoil starter and loosen the small nut that hold on the circular metal plate. 2:Notice that when tighten down the metal plate comes in contact with the plastic spool that the rope winds around. To fix this problem take a small washer that is smaller than the opening of the plastic spool and drop it over the stud sticking up so that when the nut tightens down the plate it comes into contact with the washer and not the plastic spool. This allows for flawless operation of the recoil starter and no headaches of trying to get the rope back in.

Hope this helps others; or maybe I was the only one with this problem.
Post feedback if this helps

Just curious why you are having to pull your recoil starter all the time? I have only tried mine once or twice to see how hard it was. Well it seems pretty damn hard! Have you ever started it with recoil when its stone cold.

I pulled it once just to see how hard it was and it stuck. I cleaned it and thought i had it fixed but I guess you could say i'm a perfectionist so I tried it again in a few weeks and it stuck again. So knowing it was still sticking I had to find the problem or else it would drive me crazy.

couga21, can I quote your pullstart fix on my website? It is a non profit website for the benefit of 650 owners. All you get for saying "yes" is a Nyroc smiley button.
