Default p650 stock wheels?

mudhound,

what size are your dirt devils and are they on stock rims? if so, would 26" fronts and 27" backs (dirt devils) work best on stock p650 rims.

I want dd's but don't know if I should buy 26'' for both front and back since they will be on stock wheels or if a combination of 26" and 27" would run better. I'm just clueless when it comes to tire rotation and would hate for the combination to mess up my 4 wheel drive.

thank for any tipps you can give me!

I run stock rims with 26x12.00 on the rear and 25x10.00 out front . I have them aired to 5 lbs front and 4 lbs rear and my rolling distance is within an inch front to back. I am sure you could run the same size all around but you'd probably end up having to air the rears up to match the fronts which would take away from the flat profile of the Devils and would also make a great riding tire become rough. The different sizes allow me to run low pressures for a better ride and clawing. I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions just ask I'll do my best to answer them.

muddhound,

thanks for the reply. I didn't think about the air in the back tire, but it makes alot of sence. So, you think 26-10's and 27-12's would be just about perfect rotation +- on my stock wheels with dd's. if so, thanks alot! I'm glad I asked. I just want to be happy with my decision because I'll have them for a long time. (I hope!)

If they match up the way that 25s and 26s did you'll be perfect. But remember if you ever go with an aftermarket rim that the reason that this set up works with stock rims is because the front rims are narrower and cause the tire to be more of a U profile and add a little diameter.

MuddHound,
You recommend going w/ 28" rears and 27" fronts. Will the 28" rears fit w/out the benefit of a lift kit? Also, does anyone have any thoughts on High Lifter's new Radial Outlaw tire? I am going to replace the stock Dunlops on my Kawi 650 w/ either Blackwater XT's, ITP 589's, or the new High Lifter radial. Would appreciate any input.

Thanks

There are several members on the forums running 28s without a lift, I am very sure that the Devil 28s will fit but they are considerably shorter than other 28" tires.
