Just a question for all experienced deep water and mud riders.

What kind of CV maintenance do you do and how often?

Do you regularly take the boots off and repack or do you just check for rips and tears?

Thanks

I personally don't repack cv joints unless I'm putting a new boot on. But I check after just about every ride for tears in the boots. If you feel any grease at all, then there is probably a tear. Sometimes they are so small to see, but you'll feel the grease on your fingers.

Always check your CV boots after a ride and most important is to remove all foreign material around drive shafts and the boots. I have seen muskeg build up so bad it packs in so tight around the drive shafts and joints the A arms wont articulate as easily. Get in there and dig it out with your bear hands or if your good have the wife do it LMAO!!!!!!! I tried to talk my wife into washing the Green Machine from the last time I was out, SHE SAID THINGS TO ME I WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD TO THINK OF!!!! Above all have fun.

I didnt mention cleaning and checking. Of course I do that too and didnt think it would be neccessary to mention it. Actually my cv joints are not repackable anyway.
