650 Pilot Screws
Last year I had to adjust mine out 1/4 turn and it ran well at 1/8 throttle. This year so far I have them out 1/2 turn and it chugs 1/8 throttle until about 20 minutes later when the engine is warm enough to heat the intake air enough to richen the mix. How far out have you guys had to turn the pilots past the standard 2 1/4 turns out when it gets cold where you are to get it to run right at 1/8 throttle? I have no mods. I verified the carb sync and it's right on.
Thanks.
Thanks.

do all the stock 650's come with the carbs set at 2 1/4 or does it vary? I think mine may still be a bit lean, as it still requires a slight slight bit of throttle to start, even with the improvement of turning up the idle. I checked my back carb, and it was only around 2 turns out, maybe even a little less. I'm annoyed because as i was turning it the screwdriver slipped as did the light and I may have lost a bit of the count on the screw turns Anyway, I screwed the back one in all the way and then backed it out 2 1/4. Hope this is ok.
How many turns out do you guys run on your stock p650's?

650 Pilot Screws
I found that both of my screws were only about 1 3/4 turns out , either from the factory, or the dealership when they built it. Surprising. I set them both to 2 1/4, and am going riding tomorrow. We'll see how she runs and starts. At first I thought i'd set them both at 2 1/2 or 3, but since they were so low to start with, I figure I'll experiment incrementally...
