Balancing tires?
#2
When I bought my Bearclaws I had the local tire shop mount them for me. I told them I wanted them balanced and they looked at me like I was goofy. I said hell boys the thing runs 65 MPH and it does make a difference. After a 1/2 a$$ attemped to mount them on the balancer he said he couldn't do it so I told him to forget it. I haven't had a problem though. Make sure you don't have any mud caked in one of your rims. I would think if you took it to a motorcycle shop that handles a lot of tires they would have a balancer.

I had the same problem with the ITP 589's. First, I set the toe-in to zero, but didn't help much. Finally balanced the front wheels and the problem with wobble was solved. One wheel took 14 oz. I glued the flat weights to the inside of the rim and coated the whole thing with Goop. I've had them on there for a few months without any problems.

I got one of those cheap bubble balancers from JC whitney (or northern tool) and the stick on weights. It works very well to get rid of the wobble. The tire stores I went to could not balance my wheels due to the larger center hole in the rims.
However, I did not use goop to hold the weights on, and some of the weights got knocked off by a stick because I did not use goop.

I would agree with partsman2, the first mudhole you hit, they go out of balance from the mud that usually collects on the inside bead. I never worried too much about it. Let's face it, you don't spend much time on the 45-65 MPH envelope anyway! That is, if you ride the woods much.
Just my 2 cents worth.
