The motor is 2" too tall to fit in the cradle. Believe me....I have already thought of this ride.

at one time i had a 91' kx 250 motor in a 1987 mojave you could prob fit it but you have to cut the current mount and weld them to the 650's needs, the sprokets have to be aligned too! now the 87 has the stock motor back in it but wanting to put a tri-z dead motor i have in it all it will need is rings and a gasket set!

A Ninja 500R motor will fit in there. Kind of heavy though, but it puts out about 60HP stock!

I would personally try and put a KLX300 motor in there, its kind of an updated Mojave motor I believe, but thats just me.

If you are asking if the KLX300 motor will fit, I would say yes, you would probably have to make new brackets, but height wise it should be fine.

I bet the 650 Engine would fit in a Lokata Frame because it is an inch or so lower on the lower frame rails than the Mojave. A new Lakota is around 600 bills but the rest of the Mojave stuff should bolt up. If anyone has a 650, I can measure my wifes Lakota frame for a fit.
