Wrong link, I think. It goes to an unrelated thread.

You will see a recessed brass screw next to the float bowls at the bottom of each carb. There is another brass colored screw on the bowl of each carb; that's not the one you want. Look in from the right side of the machine, in past the idle adjustment **** and you will see the pilot screws. Turn them counter-clockwise for richer. Try a 1/4 turn at a time. Dunesxcremin,

Excellent site well done.

Surveyor,

I think we have talked before on jets and such and always you hit the nail straight on the head.

Rammy,

There is some excellent information here if you have a survace manual it has step by step pictures that explane it well, if you don't have a manual put in an order to Santy Claus maybe she will have an open ear LOL.

I am assuming that there are two pilot screws. if so, what would happen if you didnt get them turned exactly the same amount. and if it would make it run like crap how would you know which one you need to turn? sorry for being so difficult.

Start by turning them in all the way (clockwise), counting how many turns they were out before you started making adjustments. Turn them both back out to the starting point and then add 1/4 turn to each. Try it to see how it runs. If still not good, turn them both out another 1/4 turn. Keep doing this until you get the desired results. Normally it will still idle smoothly anywhere between 2 to 4 turns out. It's not critical that the two screws be set exactly at the same amount of turns.
