should i put the 0.6 shim in
#1
I just put my black spring in today , the belt was really lose only after 143 miles, so when I took everything apart I only had 1 shim. I decided just too leave it out, because I have got to wait until next to get some different ones from the dealer(just couldn't wait). It only chirps a little while idleling and goes away after you jab the trottle. My question is ,will this be ok or should I at least put in a 0.6 to loosen it up just a little. Thanks for any advise

It depends on your belt deflection. How much do you have? If its within spec, leave it out.
Im new to these Kawi belt systems but it seems to me that removing a single .6 shim would take very little deflection out of your belt.
Mine squeeks a little at idle too but its dead on the low end of the spec.

When I measured my deflection after 80 miles it was 31mm. I removed one SPACER that was .024" thick and the deflection dropped to 24mm. I hope this helps and gives you and idea of what to do.
