ok i have a 99 prairie 400 4x4 and am lookin at a few upgrades. well firts off i want a new clutch spring i plan on running bigger tires so which would be best for that? and also it has a plow on it and sags way to much for my liking so where oculd i get some stiffer suspension springs up front? thank you for your time and help

Clutch kits are a great upgrade. Progressive Suspension makes a set of preload adjustable front springs that work well. Kawasaki also sells heavier rate front springs - in several different rates.

www.erlandsonperformance has springs for the 400. The 300 and 400 have similar cvt systems. The 650 and 360 springs do not work with the 400.
Get the white spring from epi and adjust it to it's tightest position when putting it in if you are going to use big tires. You could get the spring kit (more money) which includes the white spring, helix, drive spring and weights I think, but the white spring is the minimum you whould get.

It is relatively easy, but About 3x as hard as doing the 650, which is a no brainer for the mechanically inclined. I'm not saying that the 400 is hard, just requires more cussing to get the driven pulley apart and together. You need one other guy to help you do it since it takes 4 hands at one point.
Whether you need the whole kit or not depends on how aggressive you are as a rider.
The white spring (driven pully) won't make the biggest change, but it is the single most important item to improve belt life with big tires. Greatly improves driveability with big tires.
There is the equivalent of 1 shim my brother's 400. If your's has it, it might work better to leave it out. If you can think of a way (even machining)to tighten the belt, you would get better belt life out of it with big tires.

sorry about my stupidity or misunderstanding but i still don't understand if the spring you are talking about is the primary or secondary spring that is what they havethem listed as at EPI's website

I said driven, that means secondary.
Kawasaki uses the terms drive and driven in the 650 repair manual to refer to primary and secondary. Their terminology is actually much more clear than other terminology that you get from other manufacturers.
Dextreme, the oil filter is the same in every way except the 300/400 need a filter that will clear the nut on the filter mounting face.
So, some filters that fit 650's fit, and some don't. Take my oil filter list (see my website, tech tips, kawasaki, 650 oil filters) to the autoparts store with a caliper and look at each one and measure to be sure you got one that works.
