Default BLACK TRIM PLASTIC ON 650s

I never even hit/rub anything and mine black section plastic just fell to pieces this past weekend. And it happened after a cold snap.

I wonder if there are different batches of plastic that have different levels of brittleness? I ride through woods and over small saplings and such, haven't broken a piece yet. Maybe I have been lucky, or maybe I don't ride as hard as you all!

I just spent an hour on buykawasaki getting the part #'s for all the black plastics. Mine are all destroyed, cracked, gooped, and being held on by fender washers. After getting all the part #'s to order new ones I decided what a wast of money considering they didn't even last a year.

Any of you that have removed them and cut the fender where they mout off? How muddy do you get with out the black plastic in place?

Same here, I have two p650's and both have brocken black plastic. The one I ride has it broke in mutiple places, I read an article in Dirt wheels yesterday about the KFX700 having lost some of its weigt compared to the P650 in the use of lighter plastic, How much lighter can it get, I can see the mud under the fenders from the top side. If the plastic is so thin that I can see through it how much cheaper can it get. I agree we need to work together to get noticed by Kawi, so maybe they will stop using this cheap plastic. I dont buy the weight issue, I think its a cost thing.

My black plastic is busted right by the floorboards on one side. I got high centred on a rock on the floorboard and it snapped like a dry twig. Pathetic!!! I had a Suzuki LTF 250 fwd years ago and all the plastic looked mint on it when I sold it. That was after many logs, rocks, trees and shrubs did their best to break it. It was bombproof. The Kawie stuff is total crap.

talk about dogcrap, that plastic explodes if anything touch's it in the cold , replaced front mudflap last year and managed to break front finder trim this winter. By the way some of the bolt holes on kawi will accept honda plugs instead of bolts.

So far I must be lucky with my plastic. I have been out in 0-10 degree weather and bent it up against trees and it just flexed and didn't break. I love my Prairie. Sure am glad I didn't read this thread before I decided to buy it cause I probably wouldn't have and then I would never have known the real meaning of "FUN"....
