weak lakota
Started up the Lakota ('98) yesterday and it started fine but it seemed to take a long time to warm up, had to leave the choke on way longer than usual. My son wanted to race the Polaris Trailblazer ('01) against the Lakota. I told him it wouldn't even be a contest. The Lakota has a Supertrapp exhaust and a K&N filter, the Trailblazer is stock. Well we took off and he kicked my butt! The Lakota just seemed to have no power, sort of bogging down thru all the gears. Anybody got any ideas? This thing ran like a raped ape only a few weeks ago.

Sounds like the carb. If the previous postings dont fix it, you might want to remove the top of the carb and check the rubber diaphragm for tears/ holes. If it's ok, carefully re-assemble, w/o pinching or tearing the rubber. (~$100 to replace). If you havent been in the carb prior to this, it probably ok.
Check your throttle stop at the handle bar. Your son probably pulled a fast one on you!
