Switch should be to "ON".

If the warning light still flashes, the controller needs to be reset.

Go to my website, click on tech tips, kawasaki, then click the "Prairie 650 - belt light reset procedure" document.

Does anyone know how to disable the switch? If I have a belt problem, I would know. I do not need a light to tell me. If it is not tight I could feel it slipping, If it was coming apart, I sould here it hitting the housing.

Also, while we are disabling, what about that reverse switch? Can it be wired so you do need to push it to back up?

You can solder the wires together. Try to do a neat job in case you ever sell the 650, so you can put it all back. I'm not 100% sure you solder them together. A quick test with the ohm meter on the two wires leaving the switch (after you have disconnected it) will tell you for sure.

Someone has done this already and I think it is a good idea.

You could hot wire the override if you wanted, or disconnect the reverse sensor. I would probably put a switch on it. I think that the reverse limter is a good saftey feature that I would only want to disable rarely.

NYROC Email me as I have he exact flier Kawasaki sent their technicians on the belt reset issue. I asked a friend who worked at the shop for it and they gave it to me. Shows an exact drawing of the switch and tells which model the reset is to active for.
