Default 2003 Yamaha Article

I am not bashing a grizzly here but the cover story on this site caught my eye so I was reading about the new 660 Grizzly and this caught my eye and I quote

"Liquid-cooled, 5-valve, 660cc, 4-stroke single - the most advanced engine ever used in a utility ATV - and light weight (only 600lbs.) equals the best power-to-weight ratio of any Utility model in the industry. "

Have you guys seen the Prairie 650 it is a V- TWIN made with a center of gravity that is way lower than that heavy jug slingin' Yamaha.

Weight to CC Ratio
1:1 for Grizz
1:06 for Prairie
OK Grizz wins CC wise.

Weight to HP Ratio
43HP for Prairie
14.05 pounds per HP

41.5HP for Grizzly
14.45 pounds per HP
Prairie wins HP wise.
Power to weight ratio figures taken from Country of Origin tags on quads. Based on 02 Prairie and 03 Grizz.
Plain isn't it that the Prairie is producing more horsepower in a smaller package. And it has to produce more torque being in a V configuration as opposed to an over square designed favored by Yamaha. I am confused here as this blew me out of the water when I read that.

Dustin, I agree, but every manufacturer is gonna claim their quad is the biggest, baddest, most powerful, will kick all others butts-----yada yada yada. Who cares what they say? We 650 owners know who has the most powerful sport/ute 4x4 out there!!!!
