Default Replacement Screws and nuts

One small annoyance I've had with my '02 P650 is fender screws/nuts loosening.

I accidentally ripped of the right rear splash guard and broke the tab off the rear flap by hooking it on the corner of the trailer. When I replaced them I ordered M6 x 16 Button Socket Cap screws and M6 x 1 Nyloc nuts from http://www.nutty.com/. Hopefully the Nyloc will prevent loosing any more screws. I used the socket cap because an allen wrench is easier to get on in tight spots under racks and such.

$2.80 for 100 Nyloc nuts
$9.40 for 100 button socket cap screws
$1.30 for 100 M6 flat washers

You definitely need washers because the screws do not have as big a head and I think would pull through the plastic in short order.

I got the replacement flaps from www.ronayers.com. I’ve used them quite a bit and they are fast and reasonably priced.

Yeah, I know, boring project. But it’s all I’ve been able to do in the bitter cold.

Peace,

I just put lock nuts on the factory screws.

That works just as well. I just prefer the allen wrench for tight spots.
