Lightman, I don't think it makes much diff in steering, not with 26 in tires. I just don't like it quite as much. I found myself hitting stuff more, and not making it into the bed of my truck (stepside, narrow tailgate) due to the width. There are places all over that plastic coat rims for you. It is pricey, last time I checked. You can get kits for it to do it yourself.
Mudhound there is a mile of room in front for the tire to clear the strut. However, the closest thing is that the rim is really close to the steering knuckle (near tie rod). If you flip the stock rims, you would have +2 spacing per side and have a total of +4 inches width. That's way too much. I do believe that the 10" mudzillas would go on the stock rim spacing since there is so much room, but I am not 100% sure.

TRX thanks so much for the measurement. It looks like I may be able to squeak by with my trailer. I have 50.5" of width to my trailer. If you're dead at 48.5 at the widest place on each rear tire, that is awesome. Will have to really pull it on straight though, thats for sure! =]
