cleaning front brakes
#1
i jacked up the front end of the 650 today, because i heard a noise when pushing the atv around
it is the front brakes i believe. when turning the wheels it sound like the brake is catching the disk and it is sticking or something. Is this normal and should i just not worry about it or is there a problem?

still waiting for the part to come in and the new oil to get for the diff, but can still here those front brakes dragging. as my previous post states, i jacked the front end up and the tires are hard to turn and u can hear the brakes dragging. does anyone have a fix for this or is it normal, just started happening.

my bro and friend both have 650 praires, both have lost their front brakes on the first squeeze in cold weather and one needs pads, he gets a squeel once in awhile. but your prob sounds like pads to me. good luck

thats wierd it only has 300 miles on it an i did drive in cold weather this winter once and it was around 0. so that is why? is that a sign that you need new pads when it does that??

im not having a good time with the dealer so what is the easy fix for this brake problem? is it just new pads or are the brakes dragging and how to fix it? i rather do it myself than have my dealer do it.

Have you pulled a tire off to look at the pads? It may just be dirt. Try some break cleaner on them.

ive never taken off the wheel and brakes so how do u do it?
any response will be appreciated!

Are you sure it isn't just a little surface rust from sitting so long? (not sure whatr teh front rotors are made of) If that is all it is don't worry about it. Take it for a small ride using your front brakes ones in a while and if it goes away it was just a little surface rust no big deal.
