Kids had fun today....

Got out the Prairie and hooked the saucer sled up behind it and took them for rides around the yard in about 12" of snow. What a blast for them and me.... Should've took some pics....
It was like I remember when I was a kid..

Thats funny, I did this a few weeks ago with my nephew behind me on a snow tube, it was great fun until he hit a gravel patch and went tumbling. good thing he was wearing his helmet. I was on a 250 Recon and he was pulling the back end of it loose. Great fun if you have a big enough space.

we used to do that we had a barrel which we cut a hole in and put skis on (we also had one w/o skis take a look in my photo page) we dont do this any more becuase it proved to be very unsafe we had one accident where we were designing a new barrel which you get in on the end and lay down so you could roll around...BAD idea. even though i was not hurt seriously (just knocked the wind outta me and my shoulder and back hurt alot) i hit a tree coming around a corner (while in the barrel not on the 650) going about 15-17mph, with all the momentum i had it was more like 20-25mph. the barrel was a 1/4" HARD plastic and i caved it in when i hit the tree...it also flew in the for a good 25-30ft., wrapped around a tree and brought the 650 to a dead stop. you think we would learn the first time but NOOOOO!
we decided to continue with our sport due to the fact that it was a "proto-type". the next time we took the barrel w/o skis out which was GREAT fun, i would do doughnuts while the barrel was whipping around behind me goin 30-35mph. after that we decided to go down a hill, it must be said that if i was going 10mph the person in the barrel would do around 15mph becuase of the hill, the first time we went down the hill it was all good so we did it again this time just a little faster (15mph) for a split second i looked back to see where he was and then turned but i noticed i turned about 1-2ft. to late and slammed on the brakes, before you know it the barrel hit a tree stopped the 650 dead in its tracks, pulled it back a good 10 or so ft. and almost flung me off the front end. this time we were not so lucky my friend broke his jaw, his braces went into his lip and he got a gash in his chin.
sorry for the long post, but if your goin to do this BE CAREFUL and make sure you have the right gear on (HELMET)
