Default 4wd switch

Does anybody actually come to a complete stop before pushing their 4wd button? If you have to roll forward a few feet for the 4wd to engage, why should you have to come to a complete stop?

Your 4X4 switch won't work at speeds above 20 kmh. (service manual). I switch mine at speeds below 20 kmh. and have never had a problem.

That is what I do also. I just wondered, because if you read the manual it says come to a complete stop before engaging 4wd. I just found this to be kind of funny since it will not engage until you move a few feet.

maybe it's just being ****, but I always stop before switching to 4wd, as well as stop before shifting gears. Don't want to put any uneccesary stress on it.. It does make somewhat of an audible clank or shift noise when I hit the switch. True the gauge doesn't say 4wd till you've rolled a few feet.

I always stop before changing ranges. I go in and out of 4x4 as long as I'm below 20kpm (12mph) and not spinning.

I always just slow down flip it, make sure the light is on and just blast through the insane deep sloppy carnage.
