Default Installing a temparature gauge on p650.......

I would like to install a water temperature gauge on my P650......First I would like to know if somebody did this already ? And if it is possible to install it with the same sender without disconnecting the original ligt in the dash board. If it not possible with the same sender is it possible to install a sender somewhere else?? ?

So far, I haven't seen any H2O gauges available for the P650, you may want to check out warpdrivepreformance, maybe they can at least answer your ?'s on how they hook them up to other 4wheelers with the warpdrive H2O gauge.

How about this. I have this on my prairie 400. It works great and is simple to install.

I plan on installing a mechanical guage on mine soon. Hoping to snip a hose, and "T" into it. Should not be too bad of a job. I may have to make a few of my own fittings, but I can do that. My guage was cheap, around $10 U.S.

That is what I want to do, to make my own fitting to install the sender, if you can help me with a little more information to make those fitting, I will appreciate very much . The gauge from highlifter is very nice but I feel this a little bit expensive for us "north of the border" with exchange, transport, taxes, custom fees, etc.....

The H/L gauge is a beauty, but as Concours said, it would cost us Canadians $180

Heck, even for me, that H/L gauge is very costly.
Why are you wanting to put on a H2O gauge for anyway?
Out of all the water-cooled 4wheelers I've owned & out of the others that my buddies ride, without a doubt I think the Prairie 650 fan/thermo design is the best, meaning, if after you stop for a break, its neat to hear & know that the Prairie 650 fan will come back on & continue to keep everything at the correct temperture range, even with the key turned "off".
All of the other 4wheelers guys I ride with have to either leave the key turned "on" during a break or let their 4wheeler sit there, get hot & boil.
Unless you are just wondering what the operating temp range is on the P650 & to know how hot things are getting, then yes, not a bad idea to have more insight to the cooling efects of your P650.
Good luck with whatever you go with & hopefully someone could place a post on doing what you need to do, to install a H20 gauge without spending a fortune in doing so.

I know with cars the sender is different depending on whether it is a light or a gauge. The best gauge is what I call a mechanical which actually uses the capillary tube and the probe that goes in the water jacket. I also would think to get an accurate temp reading the sender (probe) would have to go directly to a water jacket rather than a hose.

partsman2--- I believe that I can get a pretty accurate reading, by T-ing into a hose close to the thermostat housing. I have a mechanical or capillary tube type guage. Besides, even if it is inaccurate, the reading will be a relative thing, if it runs hotter than the "norm", you know to start looking for trouble. They should call that red light, the "too late light"., as the engine HAS overheated and it is too late to fend off the problem! In MY area of operation, the name of the game is KEEP that radiator CLEAN! Especially the backside of the radiator. I ride in a lot of clay mud.
