P.O.R. is a paint that you can pick up from any automotive paint shop. It's highly heat resistant and sticks real well. The only downfall is that it's kind of pricey. Sure, you could get the pipe powder coated. They have a really cool aluminum looking powder coat that really looks nice.

Thanks for the tip!
I'll be giving him a call to see what he has to say/offer!
I didn't know there was somebody so close that was familiar with Tecates.
I had a shop in Tacoma do my '87 motor (you probably know who I'm talking about), and
while he's very knowledgeable about 250R and 'Shee motors, he (admittedly) doesn't
have much experience with the Tecate powerplant. He's a great trackside tuner, though.

I think I know who your talking about.....Woody ????? Call Dave (you won't be able to reach him till middle of the week) you will be amazed at his knowlege of all atv's....but his specialty is tecate's(that is what he rides). I am in the process of picking up my first tecate 4 ( I have owned about every other type of sport atv). I found an '88 white, 30 hour machine owned by an older guy...bone stock. He knows what they are worth so its not cheap. Clean 2 stroke machines are not getting any easier to find...I paid top dollar for my low hour 250R's 10 years ago and there worth alot more now. Good luck !!!

Guys,

I am helping my brother rebuild an 84' Tecate 3 and we have a lot of work done.(Engine rebuilt, front and rear axle rebuilt, all new plastic, controls, cables, carb rebuilt, fork seals, rear shock rebuilt, etc.) Our problem now is that we get no spark. I can get the CDI to send the trigger pulse to the coil so I am assuming that the coil is bad. Does anyone have a manual for this bike? and could you give me the values for the resistance tests for the stator, coil, and CDI? I used these tests years ago to diagnose a "no spark" condition on a KDX 200. Also, where can I get parts? I would like to steer clear of the dealers if possible. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

ED
