Default 26" bearclaw measurements

I just sent this to Kenda to see if they respond.

just bought some 26x9-10 and 26-12x12 Bearclaws and love them so far. The only concern I have is the misrepresentation of the actual size. Here are the measurements that I get with 26” Bearclaws:

Rear: 24 3/4" tall with 4.5 lbs. pressure
Front: 24 3/8" tall with 4 lbs. pressure

As another test I put in 7 lbs. of air pressure on the rear tires and measured them. Since 7 lbs. is what you list as max operating pressure on the tire. I got 25 3/8".

As you can see they do not come close to 26” tall. That disappointed me very much since these tires had high recommendations and that is why I bought them.

Please send me a response to this email.

Thank you,

A Concerned Customer
I will let you know if I receive a response.

I'm running 4lbs in each tire and they are on the stock rims.

Glad you got 26" on your tires then. Odd how mine are smaller then if they are supposed to be the same tire.

Yeah I'd be pissed too. But I'm very happy with my claws! They are dead nuts on 26". If I were you i'd think about sending them back

I used Veneer Calipers. They were actually ten thousands to big

Seeing how mine were actually ten thousands to big I was thinking of taking them to work and having them turned down on the CNC Lathe

Default 26" bearclaw measurements

Between me and my riding buddies we have had quite a few Bearclaws over the years. Probably close to twenty. The correct width rim is important to get the maximum height, because too narrow and they will "ballon" and too wide and they will "squat" I have found that they are inconsistent with their advertised size and had to return or exchange some of them to get a "matched" set. Even then I have to run slightly different air pressures in each tire to eliminate "pulling" to one side or the other. I still like the tires though because they give a good blend of traction, handling and good wear at an affordable price. I have also found the only way to get even close to the advertised height is to run the max advertised pressure, but even then they usually come up a little short.
