Default Mojave adjustments ?

Hello all, new to this today. To make a long story short, I picked up two 1997 mojave's. They both seem to run great, buy one is building carbon on the plug. I have the air screw out two full turns, should I bring it out a bit more? Also I just ordered a DG pipe and the K&N power up kit, does anyone know how to set this up properly the first time? as it is a pain to get the carb on and off. Thanks for your help.
Jason

The K&N kit will tell you how to adjust the needle, the air/fuel screw and which main jet to run as per your modifacations. (pipe w/filter, just a pipe, all stock etc..) It was spot on when I did mine. I wouldn't worry if it is running a little rich as long as you don't foul a plug. it's better to get too much gas than not enough. The "air" screw is actually a fuel screw, but it should only effect your idle circuit.

I wouldent sajust getting a DG pipe!
I have seen so so many of them on e-bay for sale because people get tehm and realize that they are WAY WAY to loud! And To tell ya teh truth i had one and they are JUNK I think u woudl be better off saving teh money and getting a FMF MegaMax II , great pipe and not to much $$ if money is nto a factor then i would go with a WB-S bend or a IDS2 made buy suppertrap. just my .2
