Default Running rich

I pulled my plugs the other day on my P650 and the tips were black, so I assume I am currently running rich. I finally ordered a Twin-air filter from my dealer and hope to have it tomorrow maybe. Since I am running stock right now do you guys think the new filter will straighten it out for me? If not, how hard is it to adjust my carbs and how do I go about doing it? Thanks in advance.

Don't assume you're running rich. How does the quad run at various throttle points? Any symptoms?

The quad seems to be running fine throughout the power band. I have a slight hesitation from dead stop also, but I thought that was normal.

Was the base of the plugs black too? Any oil? Was there a difference between the plugs? Have you checked or adjusted the pilot jets yet?

When I said the tips I meant the bottom tip. I didnt notice any oil or a difference in the 2 plugs. I havent checked or adjusted anything with the jets. Is it possible to do so without any tools if I need to?

If the black is not really sooty or oily, and based on your drivability report, I would say you're in good shape. You should verify the pilot screw setting for the hell of it. They should be at 2 1/4 turns out per spec. It's still cold in Penn, so maybe 21/2 turns out until it gets warmer. That will take care of the slight hesitation, as the "tip-in" a/f is a bit lean now. Do a search in the kawi forum for my posts on the procedure.
