how many miles after break-in can you switch to synthetic oil .I have heard, from right after break-in to 500 mi.

 

I went to 900km then switched motul technosynth

 

I switched to Mobil ! synthetic right after break in.

 

I called amsoil and they say not to use to change oil until after breakin (p-650 is 10 hrs). I received the wrong oil (10w40) synthetic instead of the Motorcycle (10w40). Dealer advised both oils were the exact same packaged in different bottles???- Amsoil tech support advised the same thing??? Their webpage lists different technical specs between the two but they are the same price. I'll probably change mine every 20 hrs after the first oil change until it is used up. I changed at my first oil change or break in oil change and have experienced no problems. Just remember this however just because yo have went to synthetic this is a off road vehicle and you still need to adhere to the change interval due to contaminates in the oil.

I have 142 f and 145 r jetting in WV guys with the DG Snorkle and HMF Full System and it is seemingly correct did not move the needles just adjusted the air and the thing will throw ya for a mile hehe. Thought I would throw this in.

 

I know on my DS650 I could not run synthetic because they say it is to slick for the clutch, can I run synthetic in my v-force since it is a cvt. Thanx

 

Yes because it has NO oil bathed clutches in it just run the straight Mobil 1 synthetic. The V-twin oil is a waste and so is the 4XT (I think 10w40) it is formulated to be used with wet clutches. hope this helps.
