Default FIRST KFX700 RIDE IMPRESSIONS

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my KFX700, and I guarantee that it will whoop butt on my KFX400, but I still like riding my 400 better at the Dunes. If I had to choose between getting rid of my 700 or my 400, say Goodbye to the 400. The fact is that Stock for Stock, the Raptor is a better Dune quad. Now if we take both out for a trip through the woods, I personally feel that Stock vs Stock the Raptor wouldn't stand a chance.

Now if we are talking Modded, then I have already stated that the 700's potential is only limited by a persons budget and ingenuity. It should be off the chart once the parts start showing up. The same is true with the Raptor and the Banshee right now.

These are my personal views, others might not agree, and that's OK.

SWRToad,

There is a bunch of us (Mostly Family), about 12 to 15 Quads going to Winchester Bay August 13th-17th. Unfortunately that is the only trip South we are going to be able to make this year. We tried to plan a trip to Florence before then, but couldn't get the dates to work out. Maybe next year. I will probably end up at Sand Lake a couple more times this Summer. Not my favorite place, but the closest.

Got to take the V Force for a good test ride today at the dealer. Wow! I had ridden one about a month ago at another dealer, but only on the pavement. Getting out in the dirt really changed my opinion of it. Very strong bottom to mid with lightning quick acceleration. The size and weight does not appear to be an issue. I then jumped on a Z400 and rode it through the same course. It felt like a kid's ride after being on the 700.

I am definitely in the market for a V Force. He quoted me$6300 OTD. Not bad, but maybe I can get a new helmet thrown in. I'm going back later this week to see if they want to trade for my Vinson. After all, I only have room for 3 in the stable.

I'm already looking for sand tires so I will have them in time for the weekend.

Looks like the aftermarket was not ready for the V Force. I can't find a set of 4x137 wheels to put the sand tires on. Everyone is backordered and it will be several weeks everywhere I called. I even spoke with ITP and they are out. Guess I'll have to try it on the dunes with stock tires.

Did you try Rocky Mountain ATV? That is where I got mine.

They were my first choice. Always have great service from them, but they were out of everything in that bolt pattern. I was even willing to go with the 12" and the Scat Traks, but no luck. The only thing they have that will fit it is the ITP steel wheels. I'll wait. The Geckos may be worth a try based on price, but I'm sure the Skat Trak Edges would work better.

The shop near the dunes is a Scat Trak dealer and sells all the wheels he can get before they arrive.
