Keep your 2002 650 cooler!

Install a lower radiator shroud for a 2003 650 on your 2002. It's about 1 inch longer and blocks off the bottom of the radiator a lot better. This helps keep mud from splashing up into the lower part of the radiator.
Takes about 5 min to swap out, part #49125-1087, Price - $6.71

I ordered it right from www.ronayers.com along with 2 fender trims. It was all quite inexpensive.
Just look up the P/N on buykawasaki.com and then order the part from ronayers.

I just thought of something new to help keep it a little cooler. I'm going to try and fashion a heatshield to go infront of the head pipe. I just have to look in to how I can mount it. Has anyone else tried this yet?

50/50 coolant/water helps. Coolant additive helps.
The heat wrap on the front exhaust pipe helps.
A high pressure radiator cap helps (reduces micro bubbles at hot spots, increases heat transfer from head).
Making sure it doesn't run lean, especially the needle setting helps keep it running cooler.
Making holes in the inner fender shield to increase low speed air flow also helps.
Retarded timing causes extra heat. The CDI will fix that.
