i'm suprised you haven't had a reply yet, its not that big a deal to make the tool. you just have to compress the helex and secondary together so you can remove the snap ring, and then release the presure so it doesn't fly apart. then you replace the spring and re-set the helex(use a marker to indicate where you took it apart), once you have the spring and helex lined back up , you recompress them and re-install the snap ring. the part I think your having trouble with is the body of the compressor, you have to hit the rim of hub, so you can remove the snap ring, and you have to leave enough room in the opening of the tool to reach in with your snap ring pliers. good luck Yetti

you need a 2 inch steel pipe cap, a threaded rod 1/2' or 5/8' (cant remember which one...they both might work) it only needs to be about a 1ft.-1.5ft, 2 nuts and some washers. drill a hole in the center of the cap for the rod then take some sort of saw (i think we used a reciprocateing saw) and cut a pie shaped chunk out of the cap. put the nuts on each end and your done!

prairievenom...

PM me your email and I can send you a picture of mine. I used a 1" square tube instead of a pipe cap. Very easy to make and works great.
