Default wheelies causing 650 to smoke

Has anyone noticed smoke from the exhaust after riding a long wheelie on a prairie 650. The dealer said it was oil coming up into the air filter box, would like to hear some input from this.

Thanks

This is common on mojaves, there is a breather that goes from the crank case to the air filter box. Check to see if the Prairie has this same set up, might want to check your oil level and make sure it isn't over full.

Default wheelies causing 650 to smoke

i dont know if that is true or not i know i pull some good wheelies and dont really notice or have anyone
tell me i am smoking any heavier
i do have oil in my air box but cant figure out what it is nor can the dealer
i had the rear axle seal replaced a couple of weeks ago and asked them to check things out for
me because last year i had the choke cable replaced under warranty as it was sticking on
and there was oil in the air box at that time as well and it seemed to be taken care of at that time
i do burn castrol 10/40 4 stroke oil and they said that may have something to do with it although i
dont really agree i am going to try kawasaki oil for awhile
would like to hear back from you if you do figure this problem out

I have also just noticed that I have oil in the air box. I wasnt doing any wheelies but was flying around pretty good. I was thinking it was from plowing alot this winter and having it in low gear and high rpms. Let me know what ya find out.

i havent been pulling any wheelies the last few times out either but i was doing a lot of plowing in
low gear this winter the last time out i had to add almost a half litre of oil after putting 130 kms on
in the snow which i was breaking trail for probably 30 kms of it as the snow was starting to melt
it is good to hear someone else sharing the same problem hopefully only miner

Hey guys,

Check your oil level as 2000mojave suggests. Sometimes if your overfull it can blow back into the airbox. Not a real big problem, but this excess oil might find its way into a carb and cause your smoking problem.

There is a crankcase vent sitting on your seat is is the hole in the right hand side closest to the seat. If you overfill you will smoke if you pull a wheelie the angle of the motor raises in this area as well producing the unwanted affect your experiencing. As for plowing I would attribute it to possibly being the high revs.

There indeed is a breather hose from the top/back of engine directly to the
bottom/back of the air intake box.

I took mine off once to check out if the oil in the air box came from there...
The first time I got to about 50 mph... that sucker blew oil all over my
leg ! I determined that the crank case was too full .... and I corrected
that. But I can see how wheelies could easily cause oil to be sucked up
that tube.
