I have a couple of buddies that have them and I can't wait to get against them

Keep the throttle low until the engine is nice and warm, then occassional heavy bursts of throttle should be ok. Just don't make any extended full throttle runs until the engine lossens up. Don't worry too much about the list of problems, it's not that long and not everyone has them. My only problem is I'm jetted a little lean and it makes it cold blooded. Not really a problem other than I haven't had time to swap jets. Other than that, no complaints from me. Stock it will keep up with any sportquad on most trails, and will only get outrun in the long straights. Jumps like a sport but lands soft like a cadilac running on the interstate, no heavy impact like a ds650. Plus you can hunt and tow. On the downside you WILL be asked to pull sports out of the snow you just cruised through at speed, so get a good towline and establish a solid pull to beer ratio before you hook up.

Well I got to spend a full day on this thing.I really feel I am going the bike. The belt drive is MUCH noiser than the yamahas but I will get used to that.It also seems to be very cold natured, when it is FINALLY warm it is fine but figuring on what the sweet spot is on the choke is going to take time.We had a cold snap here yesterday (upper 30's) so that was a good test...Just a couple of questions....do you guys have to give your a slight touch of throttle when starting and how many miles are you getting out of a tank of gas?
One thing I have gotten used to is spanking my buddies on the 660's

kodiac,
Try richening the air screws. We set my friends 650 to 3.00 turns out on the back and 2.75 turns out on the front. The difference in starting and low speed response was unreal. You may have to experiment a little to get it dialed in on your 650. Just takes a small flat screwdriver and a couple minutes of your time.
