Default v700 - p650 adjustable clutch weights

I'm trying to get a machinest make me a set of adjustable clutch weights, is anyone else interested?

These are clutch weight that will have three holes in them, they will be lighter that stock, you add small bolts and washers to the holes to get the desired weight. The placement of the extra weight, bottom, middle, top makes a difference in low end, mid range and top end.

I'm using a set now that I bought form Thunder Products and spend about a day and a half making them work.

the 700 will need clutch weight for any mods and the p650 will really need them for the CDI box that coming out. These weights would emimate the need for several sets, as one set would give you thousands of combinations.

I'm not working for anyone or selling anyones product, I'm not even sure they'll do it, but the more we would order the less it should cost, if they'll do it at all. Not sure what the cost will be, but I know it'll be a lot less than I payed for the Thunder's.

If interested let me know, if this is against forum rules, I apologize and please delete this post, just trying to help out fellow riders.

Shotgun,
I didn't know you wanted to machine sets of clutch weights. I machined mine and drilled holes for adjustment. The only problem there are no weights made for the Kawi as of yet. OOps I should back up a little EPI has weights out at present but not adjustable just at different sizes of weights. The hardest part is to get them the same. I grabbed a set of Polaris's weights witch I adapted made them adjustable for a fraction of what TPI wants. They work very well for my quad I can reach 116km/h in high at 6800rpm (116km/h = 72 mph) 88km/h = 54mph

Shotgun,
Pm me I have some more information if you are interested.

Alltoys;

I'm also going to use Polaris weights, as they will fit, only need to drill the pin hole larger. What I was trying to do is get the spots where they are drilled and tapped in the exact same place.

I am also going to get a weight that has a less aggressive curve to it, so it will make the clutch shift out faster, than it does with the Thunder Products weights.

Also the Polaris weights need to be bushed after drilling. This would be really easy for someone with your skills, but I don't have the time or equiment to do the job. Is this anything you'd be interested in doing?

Any weights that I have ever bought have only been guaranteed to be with in 5 - 10 % of equal weight, so they don't need to be exactly the same weight.

Any one ever look at 360 weights. The ones I saw had three 8 or 10 mm holes in them so they would be much lighter and the same overall size of the 650s. I'll have to order one and have a look, I'll keep you posted.

SASCACH;

Good idea, the only problem I found with working with stock weights, they were so hard, I couldn't drill or tap them.

Let me know what you see,

Have you seem any 700 weights, are they the same as p650 or heavier?

Thanks.

Shotgun,
Sascach is right about the 360 weights he was telling me about them when he was in Edmoton for a Kawi fact finding convention LOL. The weights are hard to drill and there are 2 ways of doing so the first is to soften the material, drill, then reharden not recommended but can be done. The better way is use a four flooted carbide drill bit. If Sascach is interested in going in on set of EPI weights to see how they cut their profile as they are said to have a faster ramp weight than stock I would be interested.

Shotgun,
What do the TPI adjustable weights look like so maybe we can adapt something readily available or just use a bolt cut to size. Mine are full of holes like a 360 clutch so maybe there is something there, I would be interested in know how much the 360 weights weigh?
