Best Tires for 650?
92lt, I went with the 10" because they should be a little lighter, than the 12 wide. I have rode other peoples 650's with bigger, wider tires, and I liked mine better. (so did they) If I had to do it over I would get the same size again.
My riding style is much more on the sporty side, I am not a mud bogger although I hit mud hole every now and then. I wish I could find some 6 ply tires that are lighter than the stock ones.
I think the main advantage to wider tires is you get more of the bike's power on the ground at a given spot, and therefore more traction, (somone correct me if I am wrong)
I did not notice any loss of power in acceleration with my 25" claws, I did loose 1 mph on top end. But the bike does corner a lot better.
I also would llike to see a chart of different tires, sizes, and their weights relative to stock.
I wish some dealer would weigh them all on the same scale. anybody wanna help?? That way we could really know who's 6-ply tire was lightest.

I've got 26" bearclaws and like them. I did notice about a 4mph loss of top speed. Now that I have my belt tightened up I can pull wheelies at ease again. They ride better but since they don't roll over like the dunflops I notice the inside rear tire comes off the ground very easy on hard pack when turning.
If you want a true 26" then get a 27", if you want a true 25" get a 26". At least that is from what I can tell. My 26" Bearclaws are not 26" tall.

with the power of these machines the tire weight isn't much of an issue, I put the rad outlaws on they are very agressive but they ride as well as stock had some wobble issues and got the front end to 0 toe in and the company sent me some diffrent tires no charge now good to go, well worht the extra money around 100 apeice finally got into a little mud they other day and they really impresed me.do the black spring and air filter and stuff you will have all your power you want with any tire!

Cam650,
The atr's are like a night and day difference compaired to the stock dunflops. Atr's bite in and grab instead of pushing or slideing. I don't understand ( is it more difficult to slide) guess i've never slid before. I will see if i can find out some tire weights and post them back here later.

92lt, I don't have a pic yet, I will try and do one as soon as I get a chance to wash it. 2003650, where did you get those numbers? If there right I am gonna have to get me some 25" mudlights. I am suprised that the ATR's are lighter than the claws. I have held them both in my hand and I thought the claws were lighter. Good info to know though.
