650 dial a jet kit install ?
#1
Hi, I just ordered a dial a jet kit with snorkels for my prairie. Could anyone tell me what I will have to do to install it, and how long it take to get it set up right. Also any pointers would be great!

You will need to remove the air box from the carbs. There will be two fuel inductors to install in the rubber
boots on the top of the carbs ..... You will need to drill four holes, two holes just big enough for the fuel supply tubes to pass through ...... and two holes for the air supply tubes (snorkles)
The fuel tubes go through the bottom of the air box and connect to a fitting that you will install in the bottom
of the carb bowls.
You shouldn't need more than a few hours to do this.
As I read your list of mods ...... I am thinking this should be one wicked fast quad !!!!!!

Vforcer, Thanks for the info, that don't seem to hard. Once you got installed how long till you get it jetted right? Also I hear you need to run your mains lean so it works? I will have to talk to someone from dial-a jet before I install to help with bigger than stock jets.
I will be putting some pictures of my machine in my file this week. I only have a couple of hours on it and man does it go! I will be draging it on a 1/8 mile asphalt strip this summer, so I will let you know how it works. I just got some 23x10.5 & 23x8.5 Turf Savers for it. They were the only tire out there with a flat tread for a 12 inch rim(come on Hoozier and American Racer weres a 12). With the ATR's on tar it just lights em up. There is also a dirt circle track I am thinking about giving awhirl!
Thanks again
Which one of yor machines do you chose to ride when you go riding? FLIP A COIN?

WildWill I put the dail-a-jets on max ( of course) and put on hole in the air box .... I used the adjustable
slide vent that dial-a-jet sells. about 1.5 inch hole. Also opened up the stock muffler.
Figuring with the open box,,, and muffler,,, that it should be a little lean with stock jets.
Result ..... It ran prefect.
Then I changed the carb jets when I installed the dual exhaust ..... Result .... it spit back in
carb in the mid range.
I shut the adjustable slide vent ..... the spitting got worse. so I opened it back up .... and
then proped the air box lid open a bit. ( take the lid off .... install it with the back two clips under
the lid.... will prevent the lid from sealing around the back ) result .... no more spitting. I knew
it needed more air. I installed a second air slide vent .... and installed the lid correctly.
Result .... It runs perfect.
